This '90s Supermodel Started Wearing Naked Dresses 17 Years Ago

There will never be anything as important to the history of the naked dress trend as a 19-year-old Kate Moss wearing that infamous sheer silver slip dress in 1993. But as it turns out, Moss wasn't the only '90s supermodel to embrace the naked-dress look.

Her fellow catwalker Elle Macpherson wore them on not one but two red carpets in the year 2000—a sparkly nude version like the ones that are so popular today and a sheer black-lace version that leaves very little to the imagination, so to speak. And five years later, she wore yet another naked dress to the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. Since naked dresses continue to be a thing, we continue to seek out inspiration from decades past, especially when that inspo is in the form of '90s supermodels, who no one can seem to get enough of all these years later. That said, read on to see Australian supermodel Macpherson (aka The Body) rocking naked dresses on the red carpet back in 2000 and 2005.
