This Dry Shampoo Horror Story Will Have You Washing Your Hair Every Single Day

The Internet is home to a hefty sum of conflicting information regarding shampoo. There are some experts saying it's maybe not so good for you, and then there's you, personally saying, "OK, but I look really good and do you understand how long washing my hair takes???" Enter this UK lady's horror story which may or may not be due to the use of Batiste dry shampoo, but definitely, inarguably, ends in a bald spot. Nicole Baxter went to see a doctor when she had started to see hair loss and sores on her scalp so bad she "would wake up several times a night due to the discomfort/pain." She was referred to a dermatologist and set up to get a biopsy, where she was diagnosed with "triangular alopecia." Eventually, she was asked to go in for a "scalp biopsy" (read: big, scary needle to the head), but right before the procedure she realized her head had been getting better.

The reason why? Because she stopped using dry shampoo (according to her)! "Moral of the story-dry shampoo caused me to now have this bald patch on my head (which I still have and it may or may not grow back, but nothing can be done) and a terrible scalp for ages," she wrote. "Just wash your hair people! It is not worth having this awful patch that I might be stuck with on the side of my head all because I can't be arsed to dry my hair." Nicole's stauts went viral, and, as you can see from her update to the original post, she has since received an absurd amount of commentary from strangers on how often she should clean herself / other unwelcome input like that. Obviously, this is one woman's experience and not a final verdict on whether or not we should all be obsessed with dry shampoo, but still! Might be something to take note of before skipping your next several showers. "Everything in moderation" is unfortunately a very logical wisdom to apply to most probably-carcinogenic aerosol products that make our lives easier.
