Kendall Jenner's newest fashion campaign is causing major controversy

On Wednesday WWD announced Kendall Jenner as the face of Mango's spring 2016 campaign. The Barcelona-based retailer plans to feature four different models and themes throughout the season, the first in which Jenner stars is called "Tribal Spirit."

To tease the campaign, the brand posted a behind-the-scenes video of Jenner on set dancing and acting adorably goofy.  While the images released so far seem to skew more bohemian and western, similar to those in Rebecca Minkoff's fall 2015 show, Mango's collection is said to be inspired by the African savanna and will also include a tribal print dress. Luxury labels Valentino and Junya Watanabe received similar backlash last year when they both sent white models in dreadlocks down African-inspired runways.
